On Tuesday, July 22, Pakistan squared off against Bangladesh in the 2nd T20I at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. In a do-or-die match for the visitors, the Salman Ali Agha-led side made a solitary change to their playing XI and brought in Ahmed Daniyal to replace Abrar Ahmed. 

The Men in Green handed a chance to Ahmed Daniyal, who will make his international debut. The fans are curious about the 28-year-old seamer, who has become the latest entrant to Pakistan's long list of quality seamers.

Who Is Ahmed Daniyal?

The 28-year-old hails from Lahore and rose to fame in 2021 when he featured for Lahore Qalandars in the PSL. Daniyal impressed the pundits across the globe with his bowling, and it helped him earn a BBL contract. The right-arm seamer represented Melbourne Renegades in BBL 2022. 

Since then, Daniyal has been active in T20 leagues, but failed to break into the national team until the recent Bangladesh tour. Daniyal sat on the bench for the first T20i, but got to play his first match in the ongoing game. 

Before the start of the play, Daniyal was presented his T20I cap by Pakistan team manager Naveed Akram Cheema and became the 123rd player to represent the Men in Green in the shortest format of the match.

Talking about Daniyal's T20 stats, the 28-year-old has played 20 games and has 19 wickets to his name. Further, the Pakistan seamer made a name for his pace and clocked 146 kmph in the first over he bowled in international cricket.

Talking about the ongoing match, Ahmed Daniyal has a wicket to his name and striked in his first over of the match. Meanwhile, Bangladesh are struggling and are 38/4 after 7.4 overs.
