In the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh created quite a buzz by hitting six consecutive sixes off Stuart Broad's bowling. This event took place when Broad was just starting his international cricket career. Although Broad was acknowledged for his skill, this particular match raised concerns about his abilities.

Yuvraj Singh recounted an interesting story about the semi-final game between India and Australia in that same World Cup. He revealed that Chris Broad, a respected former England cricketer turned match referee, was overseeing that match.

During their conversation, Yuvraj shared that Chris Broad playfully approached him and said, "Thanks for nearly ending my son's cricket career."

Yuvraj's response was a clarification that his intention wasn't to personally target Stuart Broad but rather an aspect of the game itself. He conveyed empathy to Chris Broad by mentioning his own experience of conceding five sixes in an over before. This incident highlighted the camaraderie and mutual understanding present among cricket players and officials, even amid the fierce competition on the field.

Just a month prior to that championship, India was engaged in a tour of England. During this tour, Dimitri Mascarenhas struck Yuvraj Singh's final over at the Oval ODI, accumulating 30 runs from five successive sixes.

However, Yuvraj turned the tables dramatically with a vengeance within merely a month, when the global spotlight was on, at Kingsmead in Durban. Adding to the story, the ex-cricketer shared the details of what Chris Broad conveyed to him.

Following the memorable incident of Yuvraj Singh hitting six consecutive sixes, he took a gesture of encouragement toward Stuart Broad.

Yuvraj recounted, "He was like, 'You should give that shirt you wore during the six sixes to Stuart.' So, I handed over the shirt and inscribed, 'I understand how it feels, as I've been hit for five.' I reassured him that he's England's promising future and will achieve great things."

This heartwarming moment was shared by Yuvraj on the 22 Yarns podcast with Gaurav Kapur.

The former Punjab batsman emphasized that the experience of being hit for six sixes is a part of cricket, and what truly matters is the ability to recover. He expressed unwavering confidence in Broad's successful comeback and said:

"It's a universal occurrence; a bad day can befall anyone. In such times, only you can truly comprehend the challenges. Every day, you invest immense effort to contribute your best for the nation."
