Ahmed Shehzad, once heralded as Pakistan’s long-term opener, continues to remain on the sidelines despite his prolific white-ball record. The cricketer has not been considered for national selection since his T20I appearance against Sri Lanka back in October 2019.

Moreover, Shehzad was also not picked by any of the six franchises in the PSL 2024 player draft last December. Frustrated by the PSL 2024 snub and continuous rejections, the batting prodigy subsequently brought an end to his PSL career by announcing his retirement.

Despite being off the field as far as international and PSL is concerned, time and again Shehzad manages to find himself in the headlines. For instance, back in July 2022, the star batsman became the talk of the town when he picked Hollywood actor Brad Pitt as his ideal choice to play him in a possible biopic.


When Shehzad desired for Brad Pitt for his biopic

Back in July 2022, during a TV interview, Ahmed Shehzad was asked if he has a specific actor in mind to play the lead role if a biopic was ever made about his life. The cricketer instantly picked Hollywood star Brad Pitt, evoking the interview host to chuckle.

Brad Pitt is known for his works in universally acclaimed Hollywood projects like Fight Club, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood among others. As evidenced by Shehzad’s instant response, the cricketer seems to be a huge fan of the actor, thus prompting him to pick the star as his primary choice for a lead in a potential biopic.

As far as Ahmed Shehzad’s career is concerned, the opening batter played the last of his 13 Tests in May 2017 and the last of his 81 ODIs in October 2017. Across all his international appearances, the cricketer has tallied over 5,000 career runs with 10 centuries and 25 additional fifty-plus scores.
