'We've No Superstars,' Marcus Stoinis Credits KL Rahul & Think Tank After Emphatic Win Over MI

With his spellbinding 89* off 47 balls, Marcus Stoinis let everyone know that batting at Lucknow Super Giants' den isn't that tough of a job. Mumbai Indians' Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma followed the Australian's footprints, but at last, they lost on gas as the LSG faster bowlers scripted a famous win at Lucknow on Tuesday.

For his extraordinary batting - where he notched his personal best IPL score - in the first innings, Stoinis bagged the Player of the Match award.

While talking to the host broadcasters during the post-match ceremony, the explosive all-rounder singled out left-arm seamer Mohsin Khan's performance.

The 24-year-old showed his heart in the chase, defending 11 runs in the last over against Tim David and Cameron Green.

"Yes, (it's a) great moment for Mohsin (Khan). Injured for a year, and for him to come out there and defend a total like that was great. I don't know; it was close. They batted well, and we bowled ok and just about won in the end," Stoinis said while appreciating Mohsin's efforts.

Further, in the post-match chat, LSG's overseas dasher credited the team management for the turnaround in the latter half of the Indian Premier League 2023. He mentioned the names KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya, Gautam Gambhir and Andy Flower, citing that no such superstars are in their team, but they have glued well.

"I think we have shown that we are a team and no superstars here. Different people are stepping up here. Mohsin was great. KL (Rahul) is not here, and KP (Krunal Pandya) is doing a great job as captain. GG (Gautam Gambhir) and Andy (Flower) have great brains, to say the least. I hang around with Andy a lot. So, great to be part of this team, and we are a family."

After this much-needed victory, the Super Giants have got to the third spot on the points table, snapping 15 points after 13 fixtures with an NRR of 0.304. Their next and final league faceoff is against the Knight Riders in Kolkata on Saturday; a win there would help them bag the 'Q' tag.
