On Thursday, England batters turned the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi historic in more ways than one. Opting to bat, the Three Lions' top-order batters slammed 500+ runs on the opening day, etching their names in the history books.

However, on the eve of the Test match, England's camp was hit with complaints of several players falling ill, including skipper Ben Stokes, forcing the ECB and PCB to discuss alternatives.

Opener Ben Duckett, who returned to red-ball cricket after 2016, said several players, including him, were unsure if the Test would happen. The left-handed batter, who slammed his maiden Test ton, spoke to Sky Sports about their build-up to the Test.

Here's what Duckett said

"It's been a pretty crazy day and an even crazier build-up to this Test match. A lot of us were ill in bed for the last few days, so I think at one point we weren't sure if we were going to get out here today,

"I didn't move from my bed. So for me personally it's a special day. It's one that I didn't think was going to come around and I'm very happy."

The Stokes-led side continued batting aggressively on Day 2 and managed to score 657 in their first innings. As of writing, Pakistan are 17 for no loss in six overs.
