Playing a perfect cover drive is like painting art; a second early and a second late, the ball either catches the outside or inside edge.

In the past decade or so, former India captain Virat Kohli's cover drive has been raved and celebrated, however, of late Pakistan's all-format skipper Babar Azam has risen to the challenge.

Fans, former cricketers, and critics have often been divided over who plays the shot better, as both batters have gained mastery over the off-drive.

Ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, a video of former England captain Nasser Hussain has surfaced, where the middle-order batter opened up about his favourite cover drive player, which was Azam.

In the clip shared on 'X', the Indian-origin player broke down why Azam's cover was better than Kohli's, according to his understanding.

Here's what Hussain said

"Sorry Indian fans I’m gonna be biased and go with Babar Azam. I nearly went with Kohli but he is slightly different He has the fast flick of the wrist but Babar has the conventional way of playing it, "

Meanwhile, Azam, who is leading Pakistan in WC 2023, will be action tomorrow (Oct 6), when they face the Netherlands at Hyderabad in their tournament opener.
