The first week of the first edition of the Women's Premier League has already seen three fifers being taken.

A few days ago, Tara Norris of the Delhi Capitals took a fifer against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and became the first cricketer in WPL to take five wickets in an inning. Gujarat Giants' Kim Garth was the second bowler to take a fifer in the competition.

The list is now joined by star South Africa bowler Marizanne Kapp, who took a fifer in the game against Gujarat Giants.

Gujarat Giants skipper Sneh Rana won the toss and opted to bat first against Delhi Capitals. However, Kapp ran through the Giants' batting order and finished her quota of four overs with exceptional figures of five for 15 - the best in the WPL 2023.

The bowler's first victim off the second ball of the first over was Sabbhineni Meghana. She then dismissed Laura Wolvaardt and Ashleigh Gardner off consecutive deliveries. She followed this up by trapping Harleen Deol LBW before completing the fifer with the wicket of Sushma Verma.

The five wickets against the Giants took Kapp's total wickets tally in the WPL 2023 to six. Kapp, who has played 94 T20Is from which she has 76 wickets, was bought by the Capitals at the auction for Rs 1.50 crore. The all-rounder entered the auction with a base price of INR 40 lakh.
