One of Pakistan cricket's most impactful bowlers, Mohammad Amir could be back playing for the national side once again.

Amir retired from international cricket in 2020 following problems with the then-Pakistan coaching staff, including Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis.

However, fellow countryman Wahab Riaz believes that with the new regime at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) taking charge, Amir's comeback could very well be on the cards.

Speaking to Samaa News, the 37-year-old stated that the Pakistan squad still has spots for a few fast bowlers, like himself and Amir.

Riaz further talked about his own chances within Pakistan's ODI side with the 2023 World Cup in sight.

Here's what Riaz stated

"We may see Mohammad Amir coming back to play for Pakistan once again. We have Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf but the other three spots are still available. Bowlers like Hasan (Ali), (Shahnawaz) Dahani, Naseem (Shah), (Muhammad) Wasim are fighting for it. Amir may come back,

"It (His comeback) all depends on my performance. If I’m better than rest of the bowlers then I’ll take the spot."

Wahab will be seen playing for the Peshawar Zalmi, alongside Babar Azam in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Amir will represent Karachi Kings in the tournament.
