Vijay Shankar lauds GT Teammate; Calls Him an Inspiration

Shubman Gill is one of the most exciting batting talents coming out of India. Gill has recently stamped his authority in world cricket, slamming hundreds across formats, which include a One-Day International double-ton as well. Gujarat Titans teammate Vijay Shankar has praised Gill's work ethic and called him an inspiration within the dressing room.

Shubman Gill struck a stylish fifty in the opening match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 for the Titans against Chennai Super Kings, which helped their side gain a five-wicket win over their rivals.

Gill's rise in cricket began in 2022 when the batter hit 483 runs in their franchise's inaugural title-winning campaign, and since then he has been unstoppable. 

As quoted by India Today, Shankar further stated that the new 'Impact Player' could take all-rounders out of the game going forward, however remained confident about his skills with both bat and  ball.

"Gill is an inspiration and it has been an honour to share the dressing room with him for Gujarat and earlier for India A. He is an outstanding player. His work ethic is tremendous and that is what helps you get out of tough situations.

I enjoy batting and bowling and tomorrow if an injury happens, I am ready to play any role that the team wants me to perform,"

Shankar played a handy 27-run knock against CSK, but did not bowl a single over. The defending champions take on the Delhi Captials today evening at the Kotla in their first away game.
