Women Premier League's (WPL) franchise UP Warriorz have been dealt with a major blow as wicket-keeping batter Laxmi Yadav has been ruled out of the entire edition after sustaining an injury.

The news was revealed through the side's official social media handles where they revealed the video. Yadav could be seen expressing her disappointment in the video, talking about the point that it is a huge miss for her.

Further, the 25-year-old touched on the topic of her time in the camp which she termed as memorable.

"Unfortunately I had to return home with an injury. Obviously, it is not ideal because we have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and when the opportunity came, I got injured. All the time I spent with the team in the camp was memorable."

Laxmi is a Delhi-based cricketer who was born in UP's Ghaziabad where she grew up and started playing the sport. Moreover, she was bought by the Warriorz for the base price of ₹ 10 Lakhs but was unable to make the cut in the initial two matches played by her side.

However, batter Shivali Shinde has been drafted into the squad in her place.

Coming to the team, UP had a great start to the season after they got better off Gujarat Giants in the inaugural game whereas they got defeated in their next match against Delhi Capitals.
