With some of the biggest names in women's cricket, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise was touted to produce scintillating plays in the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023. However, they have gotten off to a poor start, losing two matches in a row thanks to a batting collapse in both of their games.

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel has highlighted the lack of performances from overseas players as an Achilles heel for the Smriti Mandhana-led side.

RCB have powerhouse pllayers like Sophie Devine, Ellyse Perry, Heather Knight, Erin Burns, Dane van Niekerk, and Megan Schutt within their ranks.

Interestingly, Schutt (50) primarily a bowler, is the second-highest run-getter for RCB this season so far ahead of Perry (44) and Knight (34).

Speaking to IANS, the former RCB player maintained that Mandhana and Co. can still make a comeback and give other sides a run for their money.

Here's what Patel said

“The biggest concern for RCB is their overseas stars are not performing. They have invested heavily in their overseas players and they have not performed. Another thing is, whoever gets a start, should try to get a big one, which is something ailing in RCB’s camp.

Having said that, if you look at their names in the side, they can bounce back and there is no doubt about it. I have no doubt that they will bounce back at some stage in the tournament,"

RCB will go up against the Gujarat Giants tonight in a must-win tie for both sides, who are eager to notch up a win in the tournament.
