Umran Malik's second run with the Indian white-ball team has been a fruitful one. The speedster claimed 12 wickets together in the T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka and gained ravishing praise from critics and fans alike.

Former Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun, too, has come out and lauded the Jammu and Kashmir pacer for his recent outings.

Malik, who missed the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka, will be eager to continue his rich form against New Zealand in their limited-overs tour of India.

Speaking to News24 Sports, Bharat stated that the Sunrisers Hyderabad player needs to work more on his physique and skills to maximise his output.

"Umran Malik is a great find for India. Somebody who bowls 150-plus consistently. He is a huge talent for India and we need to nurture this talent. We have the option of making him a very good bowler for India in the future.

For fast bowling, physical fitness and skill is 50-50. He needs to work on both to maximise his potential, with consistency. He needs to work on these both things,"

Arun further explained if it is possible for Malik to break Shoaib Akhtar's world record of bowling the fastest delivery (161.3 kmph).

"Any bowler can increase the pace by 5 kmph easily with the kind of work (when questioned if he can break Akhtar's 161 kmph record)."

Malik may take the field for India when they clash against New Zealand in the first ODI in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
