The Delhi Capitals' current form in the IPL 2023 has left much to be desired, with five consecutive losses. However, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has sought to quell concerns by expressing that the team's morale remains resolute, despite the setbacks.

As the team gears up to take on the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 20th, a reshuffle of the top order could be on the cards to break the losing streak.

Marsh unequivocally acknowledged that the Delhi Capitals are in dire need of a better batting performance, and that their inability to forge a reasonable start or avoid clusters of lost wickets has been a glaring deficiency in all five of their matches thus far.

"There's no doubt that we would like to be batting better. In all our five matches, we haven't been able to get off to a reasonable start or we have lost wickets in clumps," said Marsh in the press conference ahead of their clash against KKR.

The adept all-rounder underscored the vital importance of stringing together robust partnerships and proffered that one player stepping up with a stellar performance could be the catalyst in reversing the team's misfortunes.

"We have to string partnerships and we need one player to get a big score, which we have not been able to do. If we can do that, then we can turn it around,” added the Aussie all-rounder.

It is pertinent to mention that should the Delhi Capitals fail to secure a win against KKR, all mathematical paths to the playoffs will be closed.

Despite the adversity that the Delhi Capitals have been facing, Marsh expressed that the team's collective morale remains steadfastly high. He exuded confidence that the team is putting in maximum effort and leaving no stone unturned in their quest for a win in the upcoming game.

"It's always difficult when things are not going right for the team. However, the spirits are high in the camp. We are all working extremely hard and hopefully, we can get a win in our next game," concluded Marsh.

Marsh candidly went on to acknowledge that his personal performance has been below par, with two scoreless games and a single-digit score in the three games played thus far. He attributed this to a lack of execution and a failure to effectively implement his plans.

Nonetheless, the 31-year old remained undaunted and resolute in his belief that his process is a winning one, and assured of bouncing back with better performances.
