In an unexpected move, the BCCI selection committee led by Chetan Sharma didn't include Sarfaraz Khan in India's squad for the first two Test matches against Australia.

However, the dynamic Mumbai batter roared back at the selectors by hammering a sensational hundred in Mumbai's ongoing Ranji Trophy encounter against Delhi.

After the youngster's breathtaking ton, legendary former Indian seamer Venkatesh Prasad lashed out at the selectors for not picking him for the Australia home series.

Besides highlighting Sarfaraz's exploits in domestic cricket, Prasad also took a dig at a few Indian players who are in the national reckoning despite being overweight.

Here's what Prasad tweeted

"Not having him in the Test Team despite 3 blockbuster domestic seasons is not only unfair on Sarfaraz Khan, but it’s an abuse to domestic cricket, almost as if this platform doesn’t matter. And he is FIT to score those runs. As far as body weight goes, there are many with more kgs."

Regarded as one of the finest batting talents in India, Sarfaraz has enjoyed stellar success in First-Class cricket, amassing 3380 runs at a ming-boggling average of 80.47.

In the ongoing Ranji Trophy season, the 25-year-old has garnered 556 runs at a Bradmanesque average of 111.20 and a terrific strike rate of 72.58.

So, considering his prolific run, it will be surprising if the selectors ignore him for the last two Tests of the Australia series starting next month.
