The ongoing match 26 of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 witnessed history being created by Tess Flintoff. Playing for the Melbourne Stars, Flintoff butchered the Adelaide Strikers' bowling attack to pieces to record the fastest-ever WBBL fifty.

The hard-hitting all-rounder reached her milestone in 16 deliveries, which included six fours and three humongous sixes. She broke Ashleigh Gardner's record of 22-ball 50, which was shared between herself and South Africa's Lizelle Lee.

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Grace Harris share the record for the third-fastest (23 balls) fifty in the competition.

Coming in at fifth, Flintoff's innings helped her reach a mammoth 186, with Laura Winfield-Hill and Alice Capsey contributing with 40s.

Before this match, the 19-year-old had only one-six out of 45 WBBL matches and accumulated 49 runs in the current edition of the Women's T20 competition.

Interestingly, Australia's Gardner also scored the-then fastest century in WBBL history in 47 balls at this very same ground back in 2013.
