England picked up a 20 run win over New Zealand in the T20 World Cup 2022 yesterday.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain has now reflected on the result and heaped praise on Sam Curran for his all-round impressive performance.

Curran has been an important player for England with the ball and the bat. He scored a few handy runs towards the end of the innings and then followed it up with an impressive spell with the ball to restrict New Zealand to a score of 159.

The England all-rounder claimed figures of 2/26 from his quota of four overs.

Hussain has claimed that Curran has added a different dimension to the England side and he has been a finisher for the Three Lions with the bat and the ball. He has shown the ability to score quickly in the death overs and then pick up wickets with the ball in hand.

If England are to win the World Cup, they will need players like Curran to perform at a high level on a consistent basis.

As quoted by India Today, Hussain said:

"Sam Curran has given England another dimension with both bat and ball. He is a finisher in the last five overs of an England innings with the bat and a finisher with the ball, too.

"Every game is a knockout match now and when it came down to the pressure situations yesterday Curran showed a clarify of thought whenever he had the ball in his hand. He sticks to a plan and never second guesses himself at the crucial moments."
