Team India suffered a 49-run defeat in the third T20I as they failed to chase the 228-run target at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.

It was an exhibition of aggressive batting coupled with stellar bowling performance as the Proteas side outclassed the Men in Blue in all three departments.

It was Rilee Rossouw, who hogged all the limelight with his sensational knock of an unbeaten 100 off just 48 balls. His match-defining inning was studded with seven boundaries and eight towering sixes.

Thanks to his belligerent knock and Quinton de Kock's quickfire half-century, South Africa posted a humongous total of 227 runs after being asked to bat first.

Temba Bavuma, who registered two consecutive ducks in the first two T20Is at Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati, once again failed to get going as he could manage only three runs in the final T20I at Indore on Tuesday, October 4.

A lot to take from this game: Temba Bavuma

The South African might be struggling to get runs under his belt but he is pleased to finish the series on a rousing note. Speaking at the post-match conference at Indore, Bavuma said that the thumping win in the final T20I against India will instil confidence in the players.

"A win like this is always good for confidence. We struggled with the bat in the first game, and our bowling wasn't the best in the last game, but we were clinical today. A lot to take from this game."

Bavuma also acknowledges the mistakes they committed in the first two T20I against the Men in Blue:

"We didn't turn up with the bat in the first game. In the second game, we couldn't execute our plans. We were a lot clearer in the field today, it was a lot more clinical performance today."

Bavuma further shed light on the upcoming three-match ODI series against Shikhar Dhawan-led India, starting Thursday, October 6 at Lucknow:

"We need the points to qualify for the World Cup (next year). Some new guys will be coming in (for the ODI series) with some fresh energy. Every game from now on is important for us."
