Indian captain Rohit Sharma opened up on Jasprit Bumrah's replacement, stating the management will take a call on it after reaching Australia for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022.

Notably, India's premier pacer was ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 after sustaining a back injury. Earlier he missed the flight to Asia Cup 2022, owing to the same injury, which reportedly hasn't recovered yet.

Rohit Sharma conceded that the team is looking out for the experienced bowler, who had bowled enough on Australia pitches as Bumrah's replacement. Speaking at the post-match conference in Indore, here's what the Indian captain said:

"Bumrah is out of the World Cup, so we need to find a bowler who has the experience of bowling in Australia. Not sure who that bowler is going to be, we will see once we travel to Australia, we'll find it out there."

We need to work on our bowling: Rohit Sharma

Sharma further pointed out that the Indian team needs to work on their bowling department heading into the T20 World Cup 2022. Notably, team India is struggling without their ace pacer Bumrah, especially in death overs.

In the third and final T20I played at Indore on Tuesday (October 4), the Indian bowlers were clobbered to all parts of the park by the Proteas batters, with Rilee Rossouw, whacking a 48-ball century.

"We need to work on our bowling. We played against two quality sides, and we came across tough challenges. We need to see what better we can do. We are working towards that, guys need a lot of clarity, it's my job to make sure it happens. It's a work in progress, we need to keep working and keep finding answers to it."

Rohit signed off by saying that a lot of the players haven’t been to Australia before and that’s why they are traveling to the country Down Under a bit earlier so that they can adapt to the situation before the commencement of the marquee event.

"Lots of the guys haven't been to Australia, that's why we are going there early. We want to play on the bouncy pitches of Perth, we want to see what we can do there. Only 7,8 members of the squad have been to Australia, so we have organized a few practice games. We need to understand what combination we can play."

Team India is set to lock horns with New Zealand and Australia in the warm-up games at Brisbane before taking on the arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23.
