India's Surya Kumar Yadav displayed a T20I masterclass against South Africa last evening in Perth, where other batters faltered. Yadav scored 68 off 48 deliveries, which included four fours and two sixes, against the likes of Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada, and Co., who wreaked havoc over India's batting order, downing them within the first nine overs.

Former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming praised Yadav's batting style, which is devoid of any weakness. Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Fleming discussed Yadav's technique against the short ball and in particular his stance, which poses problems for the bowlers running in.

"He just has a really positive mindset. And he has a very open and aggressive stance which allows him to play in a lot of unusual areas. So he's sort of created a technique which bowlers are finding it hard to find the right lengths [against] because if they're full he'll hit all the way over cover or around; if they're fractionally short he'll go over third man and point.

And anything straight, he's very good with the short ball. So he's developed a technique that's very hard to find an area of weakness [in]."

Yadav will next be seen in action against Bangladesh on November 2. The Mumbai-born is the leading T20I run-scorer in 2022, with 935 runs from 26 matches.
