BCCI is likely to reshuffle its selection committee after the T20 World Cup 2022. The decision will heavily depend on how team India performs in the marquee tournament.

Rising critiques

The Chetan Sharma led committee has been facing its fair share of criticism relating to the decisions that it has made. The panel has been below-par with its decisions.

Among the rejig, the chairman Chetan Sharma is set to continue his tenure in office. East Zone's Debashish Mohanty will leave his position as he completes his 4 year tenure. Karnataka and South Zone's Sunil Joshi will likely retain his position.

The West Zone seat has been lying vacant since Abey Kuruvilla completed his tenure and moved into operational work in the BCCI.

BCCI official on the critical discussion

"A lot will depend on how India fares at the T20 World Cup. There aren't too many people who are very happy with Chetan at the moment. But he will remain till BCCI selects the new Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC),"

Who will come in?

Shiv Sunder Das from Odisha and Deep Dasgupta from Bengal, both former Indian openers may make their way into the committee. Meanwhile former ODI players Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Sanjay Raul are also in talks for joining the panel. Famed coach Subroto Banerjee could also be a possible candidate.
