West Indies crashed to a defeat against Scotland in their T20 World Cup 2022 opener and Jason Holder has now vowed that the team will bounce back strongly in their next outing.

The two-time T20 World Cup winners fell short by 42 runs against Scotland on Monday and they will be up against Zimbabwe on Wednesday

All eyes will be on Jason Holder who will look to guide his side to a much-needed victory. Holder put on an impressive showing against Scotland as well, but it wasn't enough to take his side over the line.

The West Indies star scored 38 runs from 33 deliveries and chipped in with two wickets at the expense of just 14 runs from his three overs.

Zimbabwe have the tools to pull off a win against West Indies on Wednesday and the Windies will have to raise their performance levels. Sikandar Raza, in particular has been in red hot form and he could do substantial damage to the West Indies bowling attack .

Raza scored 82 runs from just 48 deliveries against Ireland and he will fancy his chances of punishing the Windies bowlers on Wednesday.

Speaking to West Indies cricket, Holder has promised a fightback from the team.

“Obviously we had a tough start yesterday. We were all disappointed with the performance that we had. But I think the most important thing for us to do is to come together even tighter now and try to find solutions. We had a pretty good chat after the game, and I'm sure guys reflected on the performance. No doubt I think we have what it takes to turn it around. And more or less we need to hitting the ground running against Zimbabwe starting that game out well and beating them."
