The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is underway, and all eyes are eagerly awaiting the arrival of October 23, when India and Pakistan clash against each other at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium (MGC). Despite the weather forecast getting worse as the date closes in, the anticipation and hype around the match are also rising.

India's swashbuckling batter Rishabh Pant, who is yet to find his footing in the T20 format, spoke with the ICC about how special an Indo-Pak match is for him. So far Pant has played only two T20Is against Pakistan and scored 53 runs.

Pant on India-Pakistan match

"It’s always special playing against Pakistan because there is a special hype around that match as always. There are so much emotions involved, not only for us, but the fans and everyone,

"It’s a different kind of feeling, a different kind of ambience when you go on to the field and when you take on the field, you see people cheering here and there."

Pant, who managed to score 39 runs against the arch-nemesis during the last T20 World Cup in 2021, recalled his partnership with former India captain Virat Kohli and wished to re-kindle it once again if an opportunity arises.

Pant, record in Australia is phenomenal, amassing 644* runs across formats from 2018. However, his recent form will be a worry for Team India, heading into the tournament.
