Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli, who is currently recovering from multiple health issues, was once part of an unforgettable prank played on Sourav Ganguly along with his childhood friend and teammate Sachin Tendulkar.
In a viral episode of Breakfast with Champions, Ganguly recalled the hilarious incident from his teenage years. He revealed how Vinod Kambli and Tendulkar drenched him while he was fast asleep at a national camp in Indore.
"I was sleeping in the afternoon on Sunday, I was 14 years old then. I was in Indore in a national camp. Vasu sir used to make us run a lot. Sunday afternoon we had a leave. So me and my roommate were sleeping. We woke up at 5 [in the evening] and saw only water in the room and suitcases were floating. I thought the pipe burst in the room. I went into the bathroom and it was dry. As I opened the door, Vinod Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar were standing in front with buckets and they were going to get more water. Ganguly said.
Adding to the incident, Ganguly stated that he checked the bathroom, only to find it dry. As he opened the door, he was met with the mischievous duo- Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar, standing outside with buckets, ready to bring in more water.
Vinod Kambli's Current Health Struggles
Vinod Kambli's health issues have been a topic of public discussion recently. The former cricketer has earlier candidly shared his challenges related to heart conditions and mental health struggles. In 2010, his health took a significant turn, and in 2013 he suffered a heart attack to treat two blocked arteries.
Additionally, Kambli has been open about his experiences with depression, and his reported battles with alcohol have occasionally impacted his overall well-being.
