Jasprit Bumrah's back injury in the eleventh hour came as a massive blow to India's World Cup campaign, as he was supposed to be their trump card with the ball in the showpiece event. But as we have seen so far, promising fast bowler Arshdeep Singh hasn't let India miss their bowling spearhead, shining brightly across phases in all three games.

In India's last Super 12 encounter against South Africa, Arshdeep made the new ball talk and claimed the crucial scalps of Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw. In fact, it was his new-ball spell that made the chase tougher, which seemed like a walk in the park for South Africa at the halfway mark.

After the game concluded, former Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal lavished praise on the Indian youngster for his incredible skills. Ajmal highlighted how threatening Arshdeep is with his swing and compared him with Pakistan legend Wasim Akram on similar lines.

Here's how Ajmal lauded Arshdeep

"Arshdeep Singh, what a bowler! By his wrists, you can't figure out what he is going to bowl - which ball he'll move away or which one he'll bring back in. I think after Zaheer Khan, he is the first Indian bowler whose swing and pace is not predictable,

"He gets two to move away, and then gets one to jag back in. That is the ball which is very difficult to face. If you remember, Wasim Akram used to do the exact same thing."

Meanwhile, India will play their fourth Super 12 encounter against Bangladesh in Adelaide on Wednesday.
