After a devastating injury on Friday morning, India's wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was transferred to Max Hospital in Dehradun, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

The 25-year-old was rescued by Haryana roadways bus driver and conductor after his car collided with a divider causing it to catch fire. He successfully managed to escape from it but with some severe injuries and burns.

The medical condition of the left-hander was assessed after which it was diagnosed that he would have to undergo treatment for atleast 3 to 6 months meaning that he is likely to miss India's forthcoming four-match Test series against Australia beginning on February 9 and then, the entirety of IPL 2023 scheduled to be held in April and May next year.

What a medical team member told the Times of India

“His condition is being monitored by Dr Gaurav Gupta of the orthopaedics department. Pant is stable, not suffering from any life-threatening injury. His mother is with him in the hospital.”

Further, Dr Qamar Azam who is working in the sports injury department at AIIMS-Rishikesh spoke about the seriousness of Pant's injuries while mentioning the ligament issue.

“Pant will take at least three to six months to recover from the ligament injury. And if it’s severe, he may take more time. Further evaluation can be based on his detailed injury report.”

Rishabh was set to lead Delhi Capitals in the 16th edition of IPL, however, now, they would start searching for options in his place.

As of now, his condition is stable as his scans came out 'normal'.
