Former Australian captain and legend Ricky Ponting has once again lauded praise on Virat Kohli, this time he stated that he never lost faith in the batter, even through his bad form.

Ever since Kohli made his comeback in the Asia Cup 2022 and has been racking up runs, peers and pundits have been flowing in with their appreciation for the 34 year-old. Kohli is currently the highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup 2022 with 220 runs in four matches, including 3 unbeatens. He has amassed runs of 82*, 62*, 12 and 64*.

Ponting in awe of Virat

"He's been a champion player of the game in all three formats for a long period of time, one thing I've learnt about champion players, in this game in particular, is you just never write them off. They always tend to find a way, particularly when it matters most, to dig deep enough and find a way to get a job done."

"Virat rolling the clock back a little bit, playing a match-winning knock, being man of the match in what I think is one of the best sporting spectacles that I've ever seen."

In the WC, India is currently second in the points table of the Super 12 stage of the tournament. Most likely to reserve a berth in the semis, India will face Zimbabwe tomorrow at the MCG for the final match of the Super 12.
