Contrary to popular expectations, the defending champions Perth Scorchers finished at the top of the BBL 12 standings with 22 points.

Scorchers faced several problems regarding player unavailability, injuries, and pull-outs heading into the competition.

However, after securing a place in the BBL 12 Qualifiers, head coach Adam Voges lauded his side for showing resilience by winning 11 of their 14 matches.

Batter Aaron Hardie and pacer Andrew Tye have been the standout performers for their side, scoring 434 runs and picking up 24 wickets, respectively.

Voges further confirmed that Jhye Richardson's availability for the Qualifier is unsure, and Ashton Agar will be leaving the squad to participate in Australia's Test camp for the India tour.

Here's what Voges said

"First and foremost, great to get over the line, great to get the points, great to earn a home final on Saturday. Really pleased with the efforts of the whole campaign... to win 11 out of our 14 home and away games (is pleasing),

"To be honest, going in probably wasn’t entirely sure how we were going to go, so credit to our players, staff and program. Proud’s a really good word."

On Saturday, the Scorchers will meet Sydney Sixers in the qualifier in Perth.
