Rahul Dravid lauds Virat Kohli's work ethic; calls it benchmark for youngsters

Virat Kohli, after enduring a poor patch for the last two years, came back stronger in 2022. The former India captain notched his maiden T20I hundred, and also his 72nd international ton this year.

So far, across 39 matches in 2022, Kohli has slammed 1,304 runs and is third-highest in the list of most runs for India in the current calendar year. However, the 34-year-old after failing in the first innings of the ongoing Chattogram Test against Bangladesh went straight to the nets during the tea break on Day 1 to practice his flaws.

Coach Rahul Dravid has called the Delhi-born's work ethic one of the highlights of his tenure. Speaking with SONY Sports, Dravid called Kohli a benchmark for youngsters in the team. 

"I know he's hungry, he feels he is back, training as hard as I've ever seen him. That's been one of the highlights over the last year and a half - just watch the way he trains, he prepares - that never changes irrespective of whether he is doing well or not. That's a lesson for a lot of the younger players coming into the group."

After Bangladesh tour, India have a jam-packed home season ahead with series' against Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia.
