After churning runs for fun in domestic cricket, promising Indian opener Prithvi Shaw finally earned a recall to the national side, being included in the T20I squad for the home series against New Zealand

However, unfortunately for the batter, the Indian think-tank preferred the likes of Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi, which saw the 23-year-old warming the bench throughout the series.

Meanwhile, the stylish Mumbai batter has admitted to not being bothered by his non-selection, as he is still hopeful of storming his way through to the star-studded Indian lineup.

Speaking to News24 Sports, Shaw also shared his feelings while reuniting with the team.

Here's what Shaw stated

"I felt really nice coming back into the T20I squad, to meet the players and train with them. I enjoyed that bit. Yes I did not get an opportunity but was given the chance of making a comeback, that mattered,

"It all depended on them, when to play when not to, but I respected that because probably they wanted to give the person before me a bit longer run. But again, I don't regret that. I will keep on looking for opportunities because I have a list of goals I want to achieve with the Indian team."

Meanwhile, Team India will cross swords against Australia in the fourth Test in Ahmedabad starting the ninth of this month. Following the Test series, both teams will clash in a three-match ODI series starting March 17.
