Babar Azam becomes the sixth Pakistani to play 100 matches as captain

Pakistan's all-format skipper and world-class batter Babar Azam has been phenomenal for his side both with his mind and skills. The right-hander has led his side terrifically in the recent past, taking them into the finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

As of now, he is indulged in the third and final match of the Test series against England in Karachi where his side has already lost the series. Meanwhile, Azam who is currently batting on 30* at lunch accomplished the record of leading his in 100 matches across formats becoming the sixth from his nation to do so.

Previously, Imran Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Wasim Akram, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Sarfaraz Ahmed were the ones to captain the Green Nation in 100 matches with Khan holding the top spot with 187 games.

Azam, who was handed the captaincy duties in 2019 has won 60 matches so far in his career while losing 31 in the process. His Win/Loss ratio of 1.93 is one of the best in the country with just Saleem Malik ahead of him with 46 matches and a ratio of 2.00.

Sarfaraz Ahmed is tied with the 28-year-old in terms of the number of matches captained while Inzamam-ul-Haq is next above them with 119 games.
