It has been exactly 11 years since Sachin Tendulkar, bid adieu to international cricket. On this day (November 14) in 2013, the 'God of Cricket' played his final match in front of a packed Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, that marked the end of an era in Indian cricket.
Sachin, who had already retired from ODIs in 2012 bid farewell to Test Cricket in the second Test of the two-match series against the West Indies, from November 14, 2013. This match became an emotional one, as fans, teammates, and legends gathered to witness the Master Blaster’s last appearance in India’s whites.

Sachin Tendulkar took guard and showcased glimpses of his vintage form. At the close of play on Day 1, he remained unbeaten on 38, giving fans a reason to hope for a fairytale ending on the second day.
Resuming his innings the next day, Sachin Tendulkar played with the grace and elegance that defined his career. In his trademark style, he delivered the ball to all parts of the ground, and delighted the crowd with 12 extraordinary boundaries.
However, his innings came to an end at 74 runs when he was dismissed by off-spinner Narsingh Deonarine, with a catch taken by Darren Sammy.
After the dismissal as Tendulkar walked back, the stadium erupted into a chorus of 'Sachin, Sachin,' a chant that had become synonymous with Indian cricket.
Talking about the match, India went on to win the match by an innings and 126 runs, and sealed a magnificent 2-0 series victory. However, the triumph was almost an afterthought in light of the significance of Tendulkar’s retirement. During the post-match ceremony, Tendulkar addressed the crowd with an emotional farewell speech.
