Bangladesh, after winning a close encounter against India in the first One-Day International (ODI), will look to wrap up the contest in the second match on Wednesday in hopes of gaining an unassailable 2-0 lead.

The home side, just ahead of the start of the series, were marred by injury concerns for key players like Tamim Iqbal and Taskin Ahmed. While Iqbal was ruled out of the ODIs, Ahmed missed out on the opening encounter on Sunday.

However, head coach Russell Domingo has stated that Bangladesh will not risk bringing back Ahmed into the playing XI early.

The pacer, who was seen in the nets on Monday, suffered a back injury during a Bangladesh Cricket League match and was asked to rest for a week by the BCB medical panel.

"Taskin had an injection about three or four days ago. He has done a bit of gym yesterday and had a bit of a bowl today for five six overs. I'm not sure we want to risk playing him yet.

There is a lot of cricket to be played, there are a few Test matches and also have opportunity to keep developing the other fast bowlers. So I don't think we want to risk playing him yet but he is on his way to recovery,"

The third and final ODI will be played at Chattogram on December 10, which will be followed by a two-Test series starting December 14.
