India's white-ball vice-captain KL Rahul in the recent past has faced a lot of flak for his dwindling strike rate in T20 cricket. The batter has struggled in the past year for India as well, managing just 434 runs at an average of 28.93, with a strike rate of 126.53, which is considerably down from his career strike rate of 139.12.

Rahul exhibits the same pattern in the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), where the focus lies on staying in the middle for a longer period, as opposed to scoring quick runs.

However, LSG head coach Andy Flower has backed Rahul and expects the Bangalore-born to deliver the goods soon. The duo has also worked with each other during their stint with the Punjab Kings franchise.

According to cricket.com, Flower stated that the LSG captain's record speaks and should not be doubted.

"He has proved time and time again that he is able to deliver. He is an amazing cricketer and so beautiful to watch but also he has got an amazing record, especially in the IPL, and a ridiculously good average. I rate him very highly."

The former Zimbabwe captain also talked about players being more specialised in a particular format than being an all-format cricketer.
