New Zealand all-rounder, Mitchell Santner will join Worcestershire for the third time, having previously played for them in 2016 and 2017.

Santner has featured for the Kiwis in more than 160 appearances and has participated in 2016, 2021, 2022 T20 World Cups, and the 2019 50-over World Cup.

Worcestershire fans will hope that his arrival will bolster their fortunes as well. They won just 2 games and finished at the bottom of the table in last year's T20 Blast.

He played just one game for Worcestershire in his first stint due to injury, but the second one was more successful. Santner picked up 13 wickets and was the most economical bowler for his side at 6.64 runs per over.

"It’s great to be coming back to Worcestershire for a third season and to link up with some old friends and faces in the dressing room, as well as some new ones.

I kept a keen interest in how the Rapids did after I left, and it was awesome for the club to win the Blast in 2018 and come so close again the year after.

They had reached a few quarter-finals before that, and to make that breakthrough was brilliant. Hopefully, I can help them get those successful times back," Santner stated.

The T20 Blast 2023 starts from May 20.
