Namibia skipper, Gerhard Erasmus has been crowned the ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year 2022 on Wednesday.

Emulating the success of 2021 was always going to be difficult for Erasmus, but again he was successful and made his mark in both the white-ball formats.

The right-handed batter started 2022 with a scintillating 121* off 120 against Oman in Dubai. He went onto score eight half-century in the calendar year, and struck close to 1,000 ODI runs. The feat becomes more prominent, considering just eight of his 20 innings were in home conditions.

Not only with the bat, but the 27-year-old also performed with the ball, claiming 12 wickets, as he led Namibia to 13 ODI wins out of the possible 21.

He consistently evolved as a T20I batter, and made an unbeaten century against Uganda in a home T20I series. Erasmus also made stellar contribution in T20I series win against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

In 11 T20I games in 2022, Erasumus accumulated 306 runs at an average of 38.25, with one century and a half-century to his name.
