The Mumbai Indians (MI) won a crucial match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last evening, which propelled them to the third spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 points table. With this win, Rohit Sharma and Co. have built a slight lead over a jam-packed mid-table, where several teams are stuck on 10 points.

One of the heroes for Mumbai last evening at Wankhede, Jason Behrendorff, felt ecstatic after a comprehensive win and stated that the side needs to carry on this momentum, with the competition being tougher than before.

Roped in for the injured Jofra Archer in the XI, Behrendorff made an instant impact on the match, getting Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat cheaply, before downing the well-set Glenn Maxwell as well.

As quoted by the Mumbai Indians website, the Australian pacer lauded his batting unit for chasing down a mammoth 200-run target.

Here's what Behrendorff said

“Yeah, it's amazing. The competition's so tight (this year). This was a very important win for us, that's for sure. So hopefully we just need to keep this momentum rolling. We've got three big games coming up.

It's credit to our batting group. We've got a really long batting line-up. We’ve got SKY, who is at a different, different level. He's been batting amazingly. We’ve seen what Timmy David can do at the back end. And then Nehal (Wadhera), who has come in the last few games in particular and has really taken the game on. So, we've got some great options, which is really important.”

Behrendorff also welcomed England's Chris Jordan into the franchise, who replaced Archer for the remainder of the season.

MI take on table-toppers Gujarat Titans next on Friday in their second-last home match.
