Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said that the mindset of his batters to do 'something special' has led to positive results after the five-time winners gunned down yet another 200+ total in this season of the IPL, against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede.

As has been the case throughout this season, Wankhede once again dished out a belter, and batsmen who got in, cashed in big time.

In such a high-scoring game, even 1 good over with the ball can prove to be decisive. And, while it didn't in this particular game as the way RCB bowlers bowled and how, first Ishan Kishan (42 off 21), and then Suryakumar Yadav (83 off 35) and Nehal Wadhera (52* off 34) batted, but it's worth pointing out that young Akash Madhwal elevated his reputation by conceding just 5 runs in the final over courtesy of his yorkers.

Sharma was full of praise for the youngsters in the post-match presentation.

"It is a good pitch. If you apply yourselves, you can get runs. Those four guys played well. Akash was with us last year as well. We saw the skillset. We wanted to give him a role. He is quite confident. He leads his Uttarakhand team. He knows what field he needs. We restricted them to less than 200. Was a great effort, It could have been 220 or more. I have no idea what a safe score is. The last four games we have seen excess of 200 has been scored. Most of the teams are taking risks and it is coming off. The batters are taking risks and 200 plus scores are being chased. The mindset of the batters is to do something special for the team and it is coming off as well."

In the end, Surya's 360-degree strokeplay and Wadhera's excellent strokeplay proved too hot to handle for RCB as wheels came well and truly off at the backend.

Courtesy of this win, MI have now climbed to the 3rd spot in the points table while RCB have slipped to the 7th place.
