Seasoned batter, Ambati Rayudu accomplished a remarkable feat by completing 200 Indian Premier League (IPL) games during the clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Chepauk on Wednesday, May 10. Rayudu, who started his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians, is now a crucial member of the Chennai-based franchise.

The Indian veteran's 200-game milestone puts him in an elite league of players, including the likes of MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, and Robin Uthappa, who have achieved this feat in IPL's history. His contribution to the league has been substantial, with over 4000 runs scored to date.

Mumbai Indians, where Rayudu played from 2010 to 2017, posted a congratulatory video for the batsman, praising him for his exemplary performance in the IPL. The video featured team owner Aakash Ambani, who wished Rayudu and recalled his favourite knocks of the batter.

Rayudu responded to the gesture with gratitude and expressed his deep appreciation for the franchise, thanking them for giving him the opportunity and trusting in his abilities since 2010. He conveyed that their support meant a great deal to him and he has cherished every moment with the team, especially the times when they won trophies together.

The 37-year-old's contributions to Mumbai Indians were monumental, and he played a pivotal role in the franchise's three IPL title victories. He then transferred to CSK in 2018 and added another two titles to his already impressive collection.

Despite Rayudu's exceptional achievements in the IPL, he has not been able to maintain his top form this season, as he has only scored 118 runs in 11 innings at an average of 16.86. However, the experienced cricketer will be eager to get back into the runs as the Yellow Army move into the business end of the tournament, in pursuit of their fifth IPL title.
