Adelaide Strikers' Matthew Short has been phenomenal in the ongoing Big Bash League. The dynamic right-handed batter currently sits at the top of the list of highest run-getters in the tournament, amassing 458 runs at an average of 41.63 and a blistering strike rate of 147.74.

However, prior to this season, Short was not the same batter he is now. He would get starts but couldn't convert them into match-winning knocks. But he has been entirely different in BBL 12, playing some belligerent knocks for the Strikers.

Meanwhile, Short has credited former Australian all-rounder Cameron White for his success in the lucrative league.

The 27-year-old revealed how the veteran Victorian helped him overcome his temperamental issues and capitalise on his starts.

Here's what Short said

"Over the last couple of years, I'd been getting off to fliers early on and then throw my wicket away after 30 runs,

"He (White) has helped me guide my way through an innings; if I do get through that first Powerplay, it's almost toning it down a little and just batting, taking the ones and twos and the odd boundary here and there."
