It was a run-feast at the Adelaide Oval as the home team chased down 230 against Hobart Hurricanes to record the highest ever run-chase in the history of Big Bash League (BBL).

With the surface being flat, batters from both the teams toyed with the bowlers and the spectators witnessed a spectacular game filled with drama and emotions.

Chasing a mammoth 230, Adelaide Strikers' Matthew Short showed his batting prowess and bludgeoned his way through an unbeaten 100 off 59 balls and steered his side home with 3 balls to spare.

He was amply supported by Chris Lynn, who tonked the bowlers all around the park and slammed a quick-fire 29-ball 64 to keep the momentum with his side.

Earlier in the day, half-centuries from Ben McDermott (57), Caleb Jewell (54), and Zak Crawley 54), helped the Hurricanes post 229 on the board, which eventually proved to be a bit less.
