Nottinghamshire spinner Matt Carter is set to spent another season at the club. The cricketer recently signed a one-year contract extension for the side.

He joined the Nottinghamshire Cricket Club in 2015 and made his first-class debut the same season. To date, the right-arm spinner has played 17 first-class matches and 16 List A games.

Matt Carter continues with Nottinghamshire

Matt Carter represents the Trent Rockets side in the England-based The Hundred competition. The cricketer starred for his side in this year’s final, conceding just 19 runs from his 20-ball spell against Manchester Originals.

Carter also frequently participates for Nottinghamshire’s second XI in the Second Eleven Championship. So far, the Nottinghamshire star has claimed 50 wickets in first-class cricket, 23 wickets in List A matches and another 57 from 59 T20 matches.

The 26-year-old expressed his excitement over continuing with the club, and said that he feels settled at Trent Bridge, the team’s home base.

“I’ve been fortunate to play for Nottinghamshire across eight seasons now, so I feel settled at Trent Bridge and I’m really happy that I can extend my time here for another year.”

Carter also stated that he has been working hard in the second XI matches and he is looking forward to contribute for Nottinghamshire next season.

“People will have seen much more of me with a white ball in my hand, but what they won’t have watched is the work I’m doing with the Red ball in the Second XI as well. This is absolutely still important to me and, when it comes to Notts playing in the first division next year, I hope I can contribute to that at some stage as well. I want to play as much cricket, across all formats and to win as many games of cricket as possible.”
