Former South Africa international Lance Klusener has decided to quit the role of Zimbabwe's batting coach. Klusener and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) reached a mutual agreement to part ways.
The South African joined the Zimbabwe set-up in March 2022 after resigning as head coach of the Afghanistan national team.
According to reports, Klusener wants to explore coaching stints over the globe, understanding his commitment with Zimbabwe will act as an issue. He played a crucial role in Zimbabwe's qualification for the ICC T20I World Cup 2022.
ZC's managing director Givemore Makoni thanked the South African all-rounder for his services in a statement.
"We are grateful to Lance for everything he has contributed during his time with us, including helping us to qualify for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 which gets underway in Australia in a few days."
This was Klusener's second stint as Zimbabwe's batting coach having worked previously with them from 2016 to 2018.
The 51-year-old was recently appointed head coach for the Durban Super Giants franchise in the inaugural SA20 league.
