KL Rahul restored the much-needed oomph to his batting for Team India as the veteran opener whacked a 32-ball 50 against Bangladesh. Despite the barbaric nature of his innings, the cricketer’s knock was packed with moments of textbook batting rhapsodies, dispatching three elegant boundaries and four effortless sixes.

His run-blazing effort, coupled with a swift direct hit to pack Litton Das back to the pavilion, drove India to a thrilling five-run win at the Adelaide Oval.

Rahul’s innings also marked his return to form after the right-hander had only minted 22 runs off India’s first three matches in the ongoing 2022 T20 World Cup.

After the win, Rahul was asked what was his mindset during the preceding matches where he was struggling to score runs.

Here's how Rahul responded to the question

"My emotions were good. We are all excited to be out here and we have all looked forward to this World Cup for last one year. I have always tried to stay balanced whether I am doing well or not."

The battle-hardened campaigner also hailed the collective team effort for securing the narrow win over Bangladesh.

"This was an important game for us. We all wanted to contribute. Today it was an opportunity for me to stand up and be counted. Every match, a different person is putting his hand up and making it count."

The ‘Men in Blue’ will now go up against Zimbabwe in their final group game of the tournament. The match is slated to be played at the MCG on November 6.
