KKR Substitutes Centurion Venkatesh Iyer with Impact Player Suyash Sharma

Kolkata Knight Riders have struck with their toiling plan and brought in the leg-spinner Suyash Sharma as their Impact Player. Against Mumbai at Wankhede, including Suyash would work as a charm, as the pitch has assisted spinners more than seamers so far in the game. However, Venkatesh Iyer - who smacked a ton in the first innings - could also have been handy with his military pace but has been substituted by the KKR team management.

In IPL 2023, the young leggie first appeared against Royal Challengers Bangalore before featuring in two more fixtures. Before this clash, he has snapped 4 wickets off three outings.

On the flip side, Mumbai have brought in their regular skipper Rohit Sharma as their Impact Player. At the coin flip, Suryakumar Yadav wore the captain's hat as Rohit missed the Starting XI due to a stomach bug.

Earlier in the match, Venkatesh Iyer became the first KKR batter, after Brendon McCullum, to smash a century in the IPL. Thanks to the southpaw's enthralling ton, Kolkata posted a fighting total of 185 runs on the board.

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have come out all guns blazing for MI in the chase of 186 runs. At the time of writing, Mumbai are at 35-0 after the first three overs, with both openers starting their show.
