Jofra Archer scripts history with spectacular six-for against South Africa

On Wednesday, ace English speedster Jofra Archer dismantled hosts South Africa, registering spectacular bowling figures of six for 40 in the third ODI in Kimberley. 

Besides helping England avoid whitewash, Archer became only the fourth bowler to register a six-wicket haul for England in ODIs. In this process, he recorded the third-best bowling figure by an Englishman in ODIs.

After recovering from a career-threatening back injury, Archer had a disastrous international comeback, as he went for 81 runs in his ten-over spell in the series opener in Bloemfontein. 

He was immediately dropped from the playing XI for the second game, as the visitors decided to rotate their pace battery. 

However, the seamer seemed to be at his absolute best in the third dead rubber, as he ran riot to restrict the Proteas to a mere 287 in their quest for a mammoth 347. 

However, it will be a busy schedule ahead for Archer, as he will participate in the SA20 and IPL. With the ODI World Cup scheduled later this year, England would like the 27-year-old to stay fit and sustain his form going forward.
