England's stalwart Joe Root is excited about the prospect of touring Pakistan for the first time for a three-match Test series which will take place in December.

England’s new aggressive approach to Test cricket under skipper Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum has paid rich dividends at home but touring and replicating the same in the alien subcontinent conditions will be a huge ask for the Englishmen.

Speaking of the excitement of his first trip to Pakistan and the historic Test series, Root said that he is 'really excited' for England's next Test series scheduled for this year.

“I'm really excited [for the Test series against Pakistan]. I've never been before. When you look at some of the games that have been there in the last couple of years, the teams touring there, it has looked great so really looking forward to getting out there.

I'm really excited to do something different. Having played the game for 10 years in international cricket, to now get the opportunity to play there is a really exciting chance,"

Despite getting mixed opinions on England's new approach, playing a fearless brand of cricket seems to have worked for Stokes' men as they remained unbeaten in the home summer- which includes series wins against New Zealand, South Africa, and the one-off victory against India.

Root has been a big admirer of England's new way of playing Test cricket and he believes that if the team continues to play in the same fashion then the team will be tough to beat in any part of the world. The number one Test batter in the world wishes to extend the winning momentum overseas in alien conditions.
