In an unfortunate turn of events, Jasprit Bumrah's international comeback suffered a massive blow, as the ace Indian pacer was ruled out of the Sri Lanka ODIs on Monday. In its official statement, the BCCI cited that the seamer was advised to rest as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, as per emerging reports, Bumrah might miss the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand and some part of the home Test series against Australia as he will require at least another month of rehabilitation to recover from a right glute stiffness.

Although Bumrah had cleared a match simulation test at the NCA in Bengaluru, he experienced discomfort on the second day of building up to higher workloads in Mumbai.

So, if the veteran pacer recovers in time, he can be in contention for the latter half of the Australia Tests.

Despite being an extremely talented bowler, Bumrah's career has constantly been marred by injuries.

Earlier, he was ruled out of the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup due to a stress fracture. His last international appearance came in the Australia home series in September last year.
