Virat Kohli is well and truly back. The former India skipper continued his rich vein of form in the ongoing game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) and notched-up his third fifty of the ongoing IPL season.
This is Virat Kohli's 47th fifty in IPL, to go with 5 stellar centuries.
Put into bat first, RCB’s opening duo of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis started on an aggressive note. With the pitch certain to get better as the game progresses, RCB needed a strong start and Kohli provided just that.
He targeted Anrich Nortje in the very first over of the game and made his intentions clear.
David Warner, the DC captain brought in the spinners to contain the batters, but it had little to no effect on Kohli, who seemed to be man on a mission. DC did manage a breakthrough in the form of Faf du Plessis, who mis-timed a pull shot and Aman Khan at mid wicket plucked a brilliant catch.
With Mahipal Lomror, RCB’s number three struggling a bit, Kohli took the matters in his own hands and was the aggressor in chief as RCB marched on towards a big total. He eventually scored his third half-century in four innings, but his innings was short-lived as the unlikely hero in Lalit Yadav dismissed Kohli for 50.
