On Saturday, India crushed New Zealand by eight wickets to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
However, despite the win, the Men in Blue are concerned about Virat Kohli's batting form. Kohli, who recently hammered two consecutive tons against Sri Lanka, has managed only 19 runs in the series.
More importantly, Kohli has seemed clueless against Mitchell Santner, who has exploited the grey areas in his spin-playing
However, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has backed Kohli to regain his mojo in the third dead rubber in Indore.
Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, Jaffer stated that Kohli must be disappointed with how he fell prey to Santner in the first two ODIs, expecting the veteran batter to evolve his game considering the upcoming Australia series.
Here's what Jaffer said
"Virat Kohli must be disappointed by his dismissals in this series. He has been struggling to play leg-spin for quite a while now whether it be Adil Rashid or Adam Zampa, and now he has gone out to left-arm spin of Mitchell Santner two matches in a row,
"I expect Kohli to make a good comeback in the third ODI keeping the big picture in mind. Australia are touring soon and they have a solid bowling unit with Nathan Lyon also there. So, the expectation is always there from him to score runs and do well."
