IND vs AUS | Steve Smith's Catch Off Cheteshwar Pujara 'One Of The Greatest': Ian Healy

India's lone resistance in the Indore Test on Day 2, came from Cheteshwar Pujara, who despite wickets tumbling around him, showed grit and determination against the Australian bowlers.

However, Pujara's innings of 59, was cut short by Australia skipper Steve Smith, who standing at first slip took a one-handed blinder. India's new-age 'Wall' Pujara played a leg glance off Nathan Lyon and somehow managed to find a diving Smith in the middle, who plucked the catch out of thin air.

Former wicketkeeper-batter Ian Healy has now hailed Smith's catch as one of the greatest in the history of cricket. Healy, himself safe behind the wicket, had some of the best players alongside him in the slip cordon with the likes of Mark Taylor, Michael Slater, and Mark Waugh.

Speaking on SENQ Breakfast, Healy further called Smith's catch a pure reflex effort.

Here's what Healy said

“Pujara’s dismissal, I’ve just looked at it, that’s one of the greatest catches in the history of cricket, that’s as good as it gets. With his old cobbler’s back, he had a deteriorating disk, but that just takes me back to Mark Waugh.

It’d be Bobby Simpson, it’d be every best slips fielder in the history of cricket, they would have loved to have taken that catch.”

Australia are on the cusp of a comeback in the series, needing just 67 more runs to clinch the Indore Test on Day 3.
